  4. Thanks in advance for trying out CatFinder.  I sincerely 
  5. hope that you will enjoy the product.  The complete 
  6. trial package consists of three files, this Read Me, the 
  7. CatFinder application, and the CatFinder documentation 
  8. in MS Word format.

  10. I wrote CatFinder to aid in the task of keeping track of 
  11. what files were on what disks.  As CatFinder developed, 
  12. I found that it provides and excellent interface for 
  13. browsing the catalogs of slower disks such as CD ROMs.  
  14. Refer to the doc for a more extensive list of CatFinders 
  15. capabilities.

  17. CatFinder is a shareware product.  This means that you 
  18. are encouraged to try out the software and distribute it to 
  19. friends and associates.  If you consider the product useful 
  20. and want to make it a permanent part of yoursoftware

  32. GETTING STARTED
  33.  
  34. To get started with CatFinder, simply launch the 
  35. application and select New from the File menu.  Then 
  36. select the disk you wish to catalog.  I suggest starting 
  37. with a diskette or small hard disk.  
  38.  
  39. CatFinder's interface for viewing catalogs is very 
  40. similar to the Macintosh Finder's interface.  You can 
  41. quickly and easily browse the contents of the catalog 
  42. you just created.

  44. You can create reports and search catalog by using the
  45. REPORT and SEARCH functions from the Catalog menu.
  46.  
  47. Refer to the documentation for more details on Searching 
  48. catalogs and generating reports.
